Kjetil Flatland – Ein song til deg (A song for you)

Vocalist and saxophonist Kjetil Flatland (1986) from Seljord in Telemark release his debut album 29.05.2015. With jazz education from Norges musikkhøgskole – and a burning interest in folk music – Flatland and the musicians delivers a genre crossing album: where the vocal and the instruments complement each other in evocative expression.
In 2010 he started the cooperation with fiddler Knut Buen, who has been an important person to hold and move further the Norwegian folk music. The album «Ein song til deg» Flatland use many songs which is penned by Knut Buen. Kjetil Flatland has arranged, composed and adapted ballads to a new rhythmic expression. In cooperation with Grappa Musikkforlag he wishes to bring this material and make it accessible to a new audience.
