Gitarkameratene´s Debut

In 1989, the quartet released their first album, Gitarkameratene, recorded live at Dizzie Showteater in Oslo. The album was a huge success and sold more than 35 000 copies. The following year, they developed the concept with a new album and TV show, and embarked on a nationwide tour. The songs on the album belong to the absolute tops of the these artists’ massive production, including evegreens such as Jan Eggum´s "En natt forbi", Lillebjørn Nilsen´s "Tanta to Beate", Halvdan Sivertsen´s "Sommerfuggel i vinterland", and Øystein Sunde´s "Vippetangen konditori". Gitarkameratene are great live artists, and with improvisation, storiytelling and a good portion of stage charm, the four artists are an impressive contrast to the pre-programmed music which largely ruled when the disc was released. Gitarkameratene began their brilliant career in the 1990s, and renewed the interest in Norwegian singer/songwriter – in Norwegian.
