Gitarkameratene is a Norwegian supergroup consisting of the four famous artists Jan Eggum, Lillebjørn Nilsen, Halvdan Sivertsen and Øystein Sunde. Gitarkameratene is a Norwegian supergroup consisting of the four famous artists Jan Eggum, Lillebjørn Nilsen, Halvdan Sivertsen and Øystein Sunde. Their enormous success is something quite extraordinary in the history of Norwegian music. The group was formally founded in 1988 and they released their first album, Gitarkameratene, in 1989. The release was a huge success and sold over 35 000 copies. In 1990, they developed the concept with a new record and TV shows. The album Typisk Norsk (1990), was an even bigger success than the last. The release sold over 70,000 copies and won a Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannpris), and Gitarkameratene was elected Artist of the Year. In the autumn of 1990 they decided to take a break in order to pursue their respective solo careers. Three years later, however, they were ready for a new round of successful performance GitKam 93. In 2010 they were back again with the album Kanon! and played for full houses all over Norway. Gitarkameratene´s spontaneous enthusiasm and unquestionable talent have won a large audience.
