Spring 2012 sees the release of her third solo recording Himelen har sove bort mørkret (Heaven has slept away the dark). The music has much of the same fine atmosphere as Taus and Sandkorn but with a more distinct shape and an even purer “Sigrid Moldestad sound”.
Making music that goes further than the folk music genre
As on previous albums Moldestad brings along a team of folk-blues-rock and hymn friends making music that goes further than the folk music genre. Nevertheless, folk music is always a strong undercurrent in her music as she always carries with her a strong influence from those deep Western Norwegian fjords and the towering mountains that surrounded her while growing up.
