Blues is folk music that breathes. Music that fills the room, yet allows the air to breath and feel the music. Autumn 2014 Richard Gjems, Øyvind Stølefjell, Ronnie Jacobsen and Robert Skoglund spent a weekend in Sanden Studio in Kristiansand. The studio’s formidable space invited to fraternization and contemplation over a common blues heritage. All recordings on the album are done live, in one room, with small amps and without headsets. The music breathes, it’s alive. The tracks are confident and vital. This is most likely this years most uncompromising blues album.
