New Perspectives On the South

Spor.Sørland features Southern Norway’s leading artists, performing texts by author/poet Olav Mosdøl and journalist/poet Johan-Chr. Sandvand. This unusual release presents unconventional musical traditions from the southern parts of Norway. The release is part of the project "Sørland i 100", and the texts by Mosdøl and Sandvand portray a diverse and varied South, ranging from inland valleys to coast line communities: Mosdøl, with roots in Setesdal, look to the coast, while Sandvand, born in Kristiansand, focuses om the inland areas. The album is recorded in the Southern part of Norway, with musicians from the Arendal area and Sigbjørn Nedland as producer.
