Brødrene Iversen Orkester are releasing their very first album.

The orchestra was formed on historic grounds in Dyvekes Wine Cellar in Bergen in 2009. This legendary basement, which was the place where Gjest Baardsen’s died in 1849, is currently the new playground for the brothers every Thursday evening.

The members are brothers in spirit and keep Norwegian folk tradition proudly alive on this record that they have named "Mor mi står i glaset".

The singer Dagfinn Iversen from Voss has collected texts from fellow countrymen as well as his own archives. Magne Myhre, Jon Hjørnevik and John Gjerdåker are among the songwriters.

The lyrics of the single ‘Mor mi står i glaset’ are taken from the poetry collection of the same title written by Jon Hjørnevik (released on Samlaget, 2008). "This is a tribute to our mothers, who have kept us under control and in oversight, while simultanously providing us with a safe and good upbringing" – Brødrene Iversens Orkester.
