Siden 1969 har Jan Erik Vold vært nærmest enerådene i Norge innen jazz&lyrikk sjangeren; først i samarbeid med Jan Garbarek, senere med bl.a. Egil Kapstad, Red Mitchell, Chet Baker, Kåre Virud, Alfred Janson og Bill Frisell. 6CD-boksen tamore… VARE er den bredeste mønstringen av hans virke så langt og tar for seg hele karrieren. Fordelt på 6 CD´er med en total spilletid på godt over 6 timer presenteres smakebiter fra alle albumene Vold har medvirket på: fra Briskeby Blues (1969) til helt ferske opptak med Vold og Come Shine fra en konsert i Den Norske Opera tidligere i år. Utvalget er gjort av Vold selv. Her finnes alle de mest kjente sporene, men også opptak fra NRK Radioteateret med Jan Garbarek og bandet som ikke har vært tilgjengelig på CD tidligere.

Poet, translator, teacher and social commentator Jan Erik Vold is a towering figure in Norwegian cultural life with an overwhelming production to show. Since 1969, he has been almost regins supreme in Norway’s jazz & poetry genre; First, in collaboration with Jan Garbarek, and later with among others Egil Kapstad, Red Mitchell, Chet Baker, Kåre Virud, Alfred Janson and Bill Frisell. He has toured far and wide with various jazz & poetry projects and struck an impressively large audience.

Richly illustrated

The box also includes a 100 paged richly illustrated booklet with lyrics from every album, and an interview with Jan Erik written by editor at Vindu, Kaja Schjerven Mollerin. The publication is published in conjunction with Jan Erik Vold’s 75th birthday on 18th October. At the same time, Gyldendal publishes the book “Vold’s Voice” that gathers all the poems Jan Erik Vold read on his discs.
