Prairie Sun
“Prairie Sun” was recorded mainly out on the prairie in California, in the studio with the same name “Prairie Sun Recording Studio”, used by Tom Waits and The Grateful Dead among others.
“Prairie Sun” is decidedly our best album to this date, an album we worked extremely hard with for two years”. We’ve played in every little corner of our beautiful country, and we’re a good old-fashioned travelling rock band” – Ole Reinert Berg-Olsen.
Prairie Sun consist of 13 new songs signed Orbo or Orbo and Ine Tumyr. Mark Knopfler’s guitarist Mike Henderson contributes on three songs, and Fats Kaplin (Emmylou Harris’ fiddler) and John Jorgenson (guitarist for Elton John) plays clarinet.
Orbo & The Longshots started playing together in 2000, formed by Ole Reinert Berg-Olsen also called Orbo. The won the Norwegian Grammy award in 2009 for their album “High Roller” (2008). In 2011 they were nominated for “Bergen’s Best Band” by the news paper Bergens Tidende.
