The key to Bach´s world

The organ music of J. S. Bach is to be considered one of the noblest monuments in the history of European music. His chorale preludes remain the deepest and most intense expression of the protestant faith, and in addition to the cantatas, Johann Sebastian Bach´s organ music is the very key to his world. Performed on the organ in Waalse Kerk, Amsterdam, Bach´s organ music is given the treatment it deserves by the highly specialized organist Kolbein Haga. His knowledge of the north German organ school of the 17th and 18th centuries is extensive, giving, amongst many other concerts, a performance of the complete organ works of Bach in 1985, the year of the 300th anniversary of the legendary composer. Kolbein Haga indeed performs the composer´s works like none other!
