Petter Wettre releases the album “The Last Album”. A collection of ballads – Petter’s swan song. This will be his last recorded contribution to the world and since ballads has been avoided before, this is exactly where the focus is this time.
But why end it here? To begin with, it was a battle about profit. About sales revenues versus production expenses. From there it developed into a matter of conscience. Conscience to repeatedly drain their creativity to raise funding or justify a project – usually in the form of creative application writing. Then it turned to vanity. Petter Wettre wants to release his best album while he is still on top. Before it’s too late.
– “The expenses have without exception exceeded the sales revenues. For the last ten years, this model has not been sustainable. I have lived well with the fact that my recordings have been fully funded by support schemes, but now they come with a strong aftertaste. I burn my candle at both ends and I think there must be other and better ways to get attention than by selling CDs and streaming services memberships” – Petter Wettre

2020 was a crazy year in so many ways and turned life upside down for everyone.
