Folk music group RUSK has released their first album with exclusively music from the deep Finnskogen and areas around Våler in Hedmark. From beautiful hymns to lively broadside ballads, intense pols dance and dark Finnish songs.
Members
RUSK: Unni Løvlid – vocals, Frode Haltli –accordion and Vegar Vårdal – fiddle.
Unni comes from a small town called Hornindal and has been an active folk musician for a long time. She has also released a solo album So ro liten tull and is know as a member of Fjøgl music group.
Frode grew up in Våler and has many years behind him as a folk musician. In 2001 he won the prize as soloist of the year from Rikskonsertene, and is also known from contemporary music group Poing.
Vegar grew up in Bærum and is an active dancer as well as a musician. In 2001 he release a double-CD with folk music from Østlandet, in cooperation with Noregs Ungdomslag. Vegar is among other known from playing with pianist Misha Alperin.
