Jew`s Harp – Tradition and Inspiration

The Jew harp is international, but at the same time typically Norwegian in the sense that distinctive Norwegian tunes have been played on the instrument for many years. On this CD Berg and Røine further the development of the Jew`s harp both as a means of maintaining a long tradition and as a medium for expressing modern creativity. Old tunes were explored in several keys on more than a dozen handmade Jew`s harps, excitement mounted in the studio, and a musical interaction found new forms. The spontaneous enjoyment and mutual inspiration were a source of new sounds, and the musicians created music that had never been heard before.
