Sinikka Langeland comes from Kirkenær in Solør, Norway. With mother from Karelia and father of western Norway, spreading roots her out across Scandinavia. Sinikka songs are often about life in "the borderland" or the human in nature, whether it’s expressed through texts by Hans Børli, Åsta Holth, her own folk tones or music from ancient times.

Solør and Finnskogen has a rich folk tradition and Sinikka writes gladly further, arranges and makes the tradition her own expression. The consertkantele provides many exciting arranging opportunities, and she often uses new sounds in traditional forms. Sinikka collaborates with musicians and actors from different genres, and see no reason for musical boundaries – while still maintaining the traditional qualities.
