Rudi was a huge fish in a small pond. He decided he needed some space…
Beautiful and melodic pop songs
Eventually he borrowed money from his parents, recorded an album and moved back home. The album flopped big time. Ironically it was named “Beauty in Defeat”.
Rudi was about to give up, but luckily he teamed up with Rune Berg, a legendary guitarist in the Norwegian cult band The Margarets. Together they made “My dearest Kathleen” an album packed with beautiful and melodic pop songs.
My Dearest Kathleen
“My dearest Kathleen” is based on Myntevik’s own personal experiences. Kathleen, Rudi’s Scottish grandmother, lost seven kids and a husband to cancer, but she was still able pass on stories of hope to her grandchildren. This stubborn love is the basis of many of the songs on the album.
Rudi says: “Finally I’ve found the colours and the shape of how my songs shall travel. Everything has led to this. There is actually beauty in defeat…”
