Ketil Bjørnstad with new music to Norwegian poetry

The classically trained jazz pianist, composer and author, Ketil Bjørnstad, is a well renowned name both in Norway and in Europe. His steady and atmospheric compositional and improvisational style has resulted in many critically acclaimed record releases and concerts, and is a formative figure in the development of the aestetics we today associate with the term European jazz.

On his record ‘Reisetid’ Bjørnstad writes music to poetry from poets such as Rolf Jacobsen, Kolbein Falkeid, Harald Sverdrup m.m. These lyrics are alternately sung by Elbjørg Raknes and Kjetil Saunes, or read by Petronella Barker and Henrik Mestad.
