Hovedøen Social Club is characterized by making Cuban versions of popular Norwegian hits – This easy unlikely merger between Havana and «Ønskekonserten» / Norwegian top list / Eurovision Song Contest / VG-top 20 etc. And this has resulted in Northerners of all ages, shapes and colors getting a smile on their face and start stomping their feet.
And now they have been in Urban Sound Studio again. Bandleader Sverre Indris Joner has figured out how to surpass Hovedøens Social Clubs’ previous escapades. This time they have invited a number of guests which made the album to a cornucopia of imaginative arrangments with richer and greater sound. The additional rise with full big band or orchestra fits well with the bands nostalgic sound and repertoire.
