Oslo Fagottkor release their new Christmas album
Familiar and humorous
The album is a collection of the choir´s very first Christmas hits, performed in the familiar humorous style, indecency and a perfect sized orchestra. It is not, however, just silly nonsense. Beautiful works, such as “Silent Night” and “My Heart is Always Present” are performed in deepest seriousness, but with unique arrangements that are probably not known to many. The song “Jorden rundt om en enebærbusk” must be defined as somewhat distinctive, where the choir are traveling around the world in order to celebrate Christmas locally – a song that is arranged by Torbjørn Dyrud and Stian Carstensen. Barbara Streisands version of “Jingle Bells” is made to the Choir´s own, and even Crystal Carrington has been given a spot on the album.
Glitter and a pinch of censorship
The album gives the listeners a recipe on how to make their own gay Christmas. The Choir thinks this is something that the people will appreciate, despite the fact that it is quite demanding. You need two tons of glitter, and half a dozen estrogen-filled musicians, among other things. On the other hand, you only need a pinch of censorship.
