Storytellers!
Storytellers! 3 critically acclaimed albums and 15 years down the road. Halfway through their anniversary year Bergen Mandolinband release their fourth album: Siste skrik. The band’s irresistible mix of cajun, blues and folk is intact, and the lyrics are as always accurate, sore and full of life and dark humor. – Great gues appearances from Anne Lise Frøkedal (I Was A King/Frøkedal) and guitarist Kjetil Steensnæs (Darling West)-.
The band’s musical trademark is intact: a peculiar cocktail of western blues, songs, folk, country and cajun Louisiana. Vocalist (and author) Gaute M. Sortland still writes all the lyrics. Small stories in song form told with accuracy and humor. – Norwegian gloom, everyday tristesse, drinking songs and lively dance and party music in perfect harmony. The band has dug itself into its own nucleus.

Still a mystery
The rabulists, poets and street musicians in Bergen Mandolinband are all from Haugesund area – so the band name is still a mystery. The band was started as a party- and street musician project in Bergen by a group students and friends, with a penchant for mandolins. Since its inception the mandolin has been joined by guitars, fiddles, banjos and vocals.
