Arve Tellefsen is unrivalled in his position as Norway’s premier musical performer. December 14th, 2016, the violinist celebrates his 80th birthday. Grappa marks the anniversary with the release of this beautiful collection of music from “the Ole Bull of our times” – where Arve himself has collection his own popular favourites from a long and varied career.

The pieces on Limelight are from different recordings with different line-ups, and displays Arve’s journey through different musical landscapes. From the short melodic pieces of Provost, Massenet and Fibich to the music from films such as ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’ and ‘Schindler’s List’, the pieces on this album is often described as crowd pleasers – Arve himself views them as musical pearls.
