Own compositions
This new release consist of compositions by Sven Nyhys only, of which 11 are brand new. There is a reason why the melodies of this recordings have been named. They’ve been taken from the traditional music, from Bjerkebanen, which has been Nyhus’s neighbour for more than fourty years, or thought as our grandchildrens musical pursuit of life. Name or title is also a contribution to the cleanliness and are given the melodies identity.
The ensemble was closely linked to NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) for many years, both in radio and television, and the number of releases on discs and CDs is around twenty. In recent years, it is mainly Viggo Valle and "Påskelabyrinten", which reminds people that this ensemble is still in business – perhaps it has become the oldest ‘still-playing-ensemble’ of its kind.
