Here is the first CD with the new pride of Oslo; the great carillon of Oslo City Hall. This is the biggest carillon in Scandiavia, inaugurated as a part of the millennium celebration of Oslo in 2000 . Since then the sound of these bells have been resounding far beyond our own borders, and the instrument is really creating a name for itself. The Danish carillonneur par excellence Peter Langberg presents a wide repertoire on this recording, ranging from original works written for the carillon to perhaps more familiar material by such composers as Erik Satie, Dmitri Shostakovich, Edvard Grieg. Also included is the Partita which Arne Nordheim has written a especially for this instrument.
