Commercial Success From Bjøro Håland

Bjøro Håland was the artist’s third solo release. Like the two previous solo albums, it became very popular. The album was a huge commercial success and sold over 160,000 copies! This is partly because of the opening song "I Love Norwegian Country", written by Benny Borg. Several other songs on the album became radio hits, and made sure that Håland reached out to an even bigger audience. Among these are "Hei gamle landevei" by Benny Borg and Johnny Sareussen, and "Lykkejeger" by John Reidar Bøe. This was Håland´s first all-Norwegian record: The album was recorded in Norway and Håland was accompanied by a number of Norwegian artists, including Jonas Fjeld. Bjøro Håland was first released on LP in 1982, but was later re-released on CD in 1989. The CD release, which was Håland’s first release with Grappa Musikkforlag, was a pleasant encore with one of Norway´s most beloved artists.
