Ronnie Jacobsen has extensive experience from the Norwegian rock and blues community. He is considered one of the country’s best guitarists, and is highly respected for his long-standing commitment to the traditional blues music. The critically acclaimed, and two-time Norwegian Grammy nominated artist, has since 2002 emerged as one of the nation’s leading and most innovative blues artists. In cooperation with the record company MTG Music he launched three albums (2003–2008), which are already considered as Norwegian classics. Jacobsen is also known for his experimenting approach to different genres and musical expressions, and is seen as one of the most creative leading figures on the Norwegian music scene. In 2001, Jacobsen released his first album, Ronnie Jacobsen featuring Salvador, together with rap artist Salvador. The cooperation between them continued on the experimental album Adjust Your Stereo in 2003. Soulified (2005) was Jacobsen’s first solo album, and although this release was far less experimental, Jacobsen found a lot of inspiration from the soul genre and experimented with different musical expressions. The release was very well received and was nominated for the Norwegian Grammy in the category for blues. In 2008, he released his second solo album, Stand Your Test In Judgment, and in 2009, he released the San Jose Sessions. The album was a tribute to the traditional blues and was met with praise from reviewers as well as from audience. Jacobsen is acknowledged as one of Norway’s´ best concert artists in the genre he represents. He is a member of the "guitarist collective" Guitarmageddon, and has spent the last decade touring in Norway and abroad with a range of different artists. June 2011
