Frank Tveor Nordensten (b.1955) began to study piano at an early age, but turned to the church organ when he was 16. In 1975 Nordensten started his studies a the Norwegian State Academy of Music, with the organ as his main instrument. After graduating in 1979, he continued to study composition under Professor Finn Mortensen, and took his graduate degree in composition in 1981.

Nordensten´s varied production ranges from solo works to large-scale symphonies. He is also interested in electronic music and was one of the first composers in Norwayto to explore the potential of the computer in composition. Here he has first-hand knowledge as he has a great deal of experience in programming and developing suitable programmes for composing.
