David Bratlie

David Bratlie (1972) has a diploma in compositional studies from the Norwegian Academy of Music. He has been teaching composition at the Academy for the past two years. Bratlie has written music for chamber ensembles, soloists and orchestras as well as electroacustic music. Bratlies compositions – both his instrumental and vocal music – often has an approach to the religious. One of his general motivations is to illuminate and reflect over important parts in the Biblical texts – such as the nature of the revelation and the inherent potential of expression in the texts.
