Bror Magnus Tødenes (1993) grew up on the coast in mid-West Norway in a small village called Eiksund. He became interested in music early on, starting with piano lessons at the age of eight before turning to the electric guitar and finally to classical song and opera. At 17 he enrolled on the “Young Musician” talent programme at the Institute of Music at NTNU in Trondheim, where he recently finished his 2nd year of the Bachelor degree. Bror Magnus combines his talent and musical gift with focused work, enthusiasm and a deep love for opera. At only 21 years old he is already described at a ‘tenore spinto’ with dramatic qualities, and he has developed a varied repertoire within lieder and opera. He has received several grants, among them ‘Erling Kroghs sangerlegat’ awarded by the Norwegian National Opera (of which he is the youngest winner ever), and he has just been accepted on the Young Artist Programme at the Salzburg Festival for 2015. Bror Magnus has featured in concerts with orchestras including the Trondheim Soloists, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. His professional debut on the opera stage was in the “Kibergodysséen” at the Festival of Northern Norway in 2014.
