Through collaboration with conductors and soloists of a high international standard, Bodø Sinfonietta has developed into a high standard ensemble with flexible and enthusiastic musicians. Through collaboration with conductors and soloists of a high international standard, Bodø Sinfonietta has developed into a high standard ensemble with flexible and enthusiastic musicians.
The ensemble collaborates regularly with Bodø’s other production environments, as well as with permanent collaboration partners on a national and international basis. These include the Ultima Festival in Oslo, which is one of the world’s leading contemporary music festivals, the Nordland Music Festival and the aid project Transposition (Norway-Vietnam).
Bodø Sinfonietta holds regular concerts at Bodø Kulturhus, and the ensemble travels regularly to major European cities such as London, St. Petersburg, Reykjavik, Oslo and Gothenburg. The ensemble has performed at the Nordic Music Days in St. Petersburg in 2005 and in 2009 at the Hermitage Music Festival at the Winter Palace. Bodø Sinfonietta features on several CDs and DVDs with musical styles spanning from rock with Madrugada to folk singers Terje Nilsen and Halvdan Sivertsen, as well as the ensemble’s own recordings of Norwegian contemporary music.
Bodø Sinfonietta is now part of Nordnorsk Opera og Symfoniorkester AS.
