Ugelvik’s commitment to contemporary music is widely recognised. She was acclaimed ‘Performer of the year 2016’ by The Norwegian Society of Composers. She has two times received a state grant for performing artists, one of the most coveted awards in Norway. Her recordings are rewarded with the Norwegian Grammy three times. She has performed as a soloist with Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, The Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Oslo Sinfonietta, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Allegria and Risør Chamber Orchestra. She is a member of Ensemble asamisimasa and Jagerflygel.
Ugelvik works as a researcher at the Arne Nordheim Center for Artistic Research in Music at the Norwegian Academy of Music. In 2017 she completed her Ph.d. with the project ‘The soloist in contemporary piano concerti’. From 2019-2022 she is leading the project ‘Performing Precarity’.
