Veslemøy Solberg is one of our most versatile artists. She is a gifted vocalist, an acclaimed composer and lyricist, and she has had great success as a cabaret actor. Through a series of exciting and different projects, Solberg has gained a unique position in Norwegian cultural life. She has released eight solo albums and has contributed to numerous compilations. The musical expressions as well as the text material is varied and diverse, and Solberg makes use of both her own and others’ lyrics and music. She debuted with the release Min uge sang in 1994 where she sang poems by Halldis Moren Vesaas. The release was met with rave reviews and Solberg was appointed as one of the most exciting debut artists. Solberg has since then regularly released new albums, including Strength Of The Runes (1996) and the compilation Den Røde Gitar (2005) where she participated along with many other renowned artists. In 2006 cam Eventyret om Hanna, for which she was nominated for a Spellemannpris (Norwegian Grammy Award) in the category "Children’s Music". In 2008 she released the critically acclaimed Gullmåne. Solberg has performed numerous times both on stage and on TV. She has participated in shows with Ole Paus, Jonas Fjeld and Dollie de Luxe, and has become familiar TV face through her involvement in a number of popular TV series.
