Pianist Sanae Yoshida, born and raised in Japan, went to Norway to study under prof. Jiri Hlinka at Barratt Due Academy of Music after studies in Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo. Pianist Sanae Yoshida, born and raised in Japan, went to Norway to study under prof. Jiri Hlinka at Barratt Due Academy of Music after studies in Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo. Later, she studied several years with prof. Håkon Austbø at the University of Stavanger, where she also was employed as accompanist. During the last few years, she has been living in the Oslo area, freelancing with solo, chamber and ensemble repertoar. Besides this, she has been engaged as an accompanist at several high schools, Baratt Due Insitute of Music, The Norwegian Academy of Music, and Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Sanae has won several prizes and received several scholarships, and performed as soloist at festivals such as Bergen International Festival, Engadin Music Festival, Neue Musik Darmstadt and The Fartein Valen Festival. In 2012 she became a semi finalist in «10e Concours International de Piano d´Orléans in France. As a soloist and chamber musicians she has performed at several concerts in Norway, Europe and Japan. From October 2017 she is an artistic research fellow at the Norwegian Academy of Music/The Norwegian Artistic Research Programme, with the project "The microtonal piano – and the tuned-in interpreter".
