Pål Rake (26), born in the windy and beautiful small town of Egersund in the south-west of Norway, has been a contestant in the TV-show ´The Voice´ in Norway, where he came in second place with Espen Lind as his mentor. Since then Rake has worked on his debut album which he has produced together with Nicolay Svennæs and Eivind Helgerød (Jarle Bernhoft, Emilie Nicolas). The trio has also gotten great advice from Espen Lind (Beyonce, Train) and Ingvar Hovland (Vamp, Lars Martin Myhre).

Being musically inclined from a young age, Rake picked up the trumpet and the piano already as a five year old, and would continue to write and perform music throughout his entire youth. As an 18-year old he got admitted to the LIPA (Paul McCartney-school) in Liverpool, but eventually turned it down in favor of a position as a trumpeter in the King´s guard which eventually ended up as a church musician-position in Oslo as an alternative for the compulsory military service.

The year after, in 2009, Rake began at the Conservatory of Music in Kristiansand, where he graduated with a masters degree in popular music studies in 2014. Throughout these years Rake received several prizes and scholarships, worked actively as a composer and musician, and held lectures at the University of Kristiansand. In addition he took the initiative to start a series of successful concerts and musical events in Kristiansand.

The summer of 2015 he signed with Grappa Musikkforlag, and his album debut is due February 2016.
