She received her education at the Elder Music Conservatory under Peter Tanfield, the University of Adelaide and at the National Academy of Music. Rayner has throughout her career performed with a range of Australian ensembles, been 1. violinist in Melbourne Symphony Orchestra from 2000-2011 and worked as alternating solo 2. violinist and alternating concert master in Adelaide Symphony Orchestra since 2004. She has also been project musician in The Australian Chamber Orchestra and The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. From 2011 she works as first violinst in Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
