Tora Augestad (born in Bergen, 1979) is one of the most versatile singers of her generation. She has studied classical music, modern music and jazz, and holds a masters degree in cabaret singing from the Norwegian Academy of Music. Tora has sung in the Norwegian Soloists Choir, Karuzela and Pitsj. She is the vocalist in the ensemble MUSIC FOR A WHILE, which she established in 2004 together with Stian Carstensen, Mathias Eick, Pål Hausken and Martin Taxt, and which has released two critically acclaimed albums. Augestad works as a singer and actress, and has an extensive career encompassing all of Europe as her workplace. Since 2010 she has worked closely together with the Swiss star director Christoph Marthaler, and has appeared in six of his recent productions. She has lived in Berlin since 2007. Tanja Orning (born in Oslo, 1967) is a high-profile performer of contemporary and experimental music. After studying at the Norwegian Academy of Music, with William Pleeth in London, and with Janos Starker in the USA (as a Fulbright research fellow), she was engaged as a co-principal cellist with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra from 1994 to 2000. She plays with ensembles including Asimisimasa, BOA and Dr Ox, and her solo project Cellotronics resulted in a CD in 2005. She has previously collaborated with the Christian Wallumrød Ensemble, Ensemble Polygon, Plus Minus Ensemble, Kyberia, Ametri, Wunderkammer and the Trygve Seim Orchestra. Orning is currently a research fellow at the Norwegian Academy of Music, where she is conducting research on performance practice in contemporary music. Morten Barrikmo (born in Kongsberg, 1979) is a clarinettist and music teacher with a degree from the Norwegian Academy of Music. He is a versatile musician who has worked extensively with improvisation, modern music, alternative performance techniques, rock and jazz as well as with classical music. In addition to the project BOA he has participated in ensembles such as the Oslo Sinfonietta, the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and the BIT20 Ensemble. Together with Ole Jørn Myklebust he has had success both in Norway and abroad with Concerts Norway presenting the critically acclaimed, non-verbal production Klangbein. Other projects include Dead Dino Storage, Acoustic Accident, the Dag-Filip Roaldsnes Ensemble, BaRoLo, Lemur Critical Band, the Ny musikk Bergen production of the opera Lohengrin (Sciarrino), Bull of the Year and the Andreas Ulvo Ensemble.
