Deeply rooted in the traditions og Norwegian music, he is flirting with other styles through playful and convincing improvisation. The music is fast and slow, high and low, and in the counterpoint between tradition and innovation, Gjermund Larsen is a true cornucopia of genuine musicality. In 2007 he was the winner of Grappa\u00b4s debutant price and together with Andreas Utnem (piano and harmonium) and Sondre Meisfjord (double bass), he was awarded the Norwegian Grammy 2008 for his debut album Ankomst.
