Unique re-release<\/p>\n
The re-release of Byen med det store hjertet on CD gives a rare insight into the original recording. This is actually the first disc where the original master tapes are preserved! The album has elements from Norwegian and international folk music, and includes Lillebj\u00f8rn Nilsen’s own songs as well as translated tunes. On this release, we find the first song Nilsen ever wrote, “Danse ikke gr\u00e5te n\u00e5”, and one of his personal favorites, “Gagnl\u00f8ysa”, with text by Ivar Aasen. Byen med det store hjertet, produced by \u00d8ystein Sunde, is modest and direct in it\u00b4s sound \u2013 a perfect setting for Nilsen’s songs. The same year Byen med det store hjertet was re-released, two of Nilsen’s other albums were reissued on CD: Tilbake (1971) and Portrett (1973). The three albums were digitally processed and greatly improved, and added 5 extra tracks each that were not included on the original LP releases.<\/p>\n
