Jan Eggum\u00b4s Breakthrough<\/p>\n
Heksedans was Jan Eggum\u00b4s big breakthrough as an artist and is still considered today among his best albums. It was with this release, his third, that he really became known to the Norwegian public. Heksedans shows Eggum as a serious and ambitious artist. The songs are melodious and the lyrics serious, but often with an underlying humor. Well-known songs such as “Mor jeg vil tilbake”, “Unnagjort” and the title track “Heksedans” are all examples of Eggum\u00b4s brave and direct lyrics, made complete with catchy melodies. Members of the rock band Saft contributed on the disc, this time under the name Ring. The association of folk song and rock resulted in a sound that suited Eggum\u00b4s burning commitment. The release gave him Bransjeprisen at the Norwegian Grammy award ceremony (Spellemannprisen) in 1978.<\/p>\n
