Kjell B\u00e6kkelund was one of a kind. He made his debut at the age of five with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in1938, and gave his last concert and recording session in 2003. In his own country Kjell B\u00e6kkelund was one of the foremost champions for the contemporary music. He saw it as a duty towards the society, and most important for him was the performance of music by Norwegian composers. Arne Nordheim\u2019s \u2019Listen\u2019 and Finn Mortensen\u2019s \u2019Fantasy and Fuge\u2019 were only two of the works he brought with him all over the world.<\/p>\n
