Tellefsen Chamber Works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>The Norwegian Chopin<\/p>\n<p>Only 19 years old, more or less directly from his debut as a concert pianist in his hometown of Trondheim, Thomas D. A. Tellefsen traveled to remote Paris to further his studies in music. As  Chopin&#8217;s apprentice Thomas evolved both as a composer and a pianist. The two became friends and played a lot together, both in private and in public, including a tour of London. When Chopin died, Tellefsen took over some of his most profiled and well-off students.<\/p>\n<p>Tellefsen himself was a true virtuoso of the piano \u2013 something the piano parts of his works also verifies. If you put this fact together with the very interesting combination of continental and Norwegian influences that characterizes Tellefsen\u2019s music, pianist Einar Steen-N\u00f8kleberg stands out as the ideal \u2018Tellefsen ambassador\u2019 today. His international success with recordings of the complete works of Grieg, S\u00e6verud and Halfdan Kjerulf (Simax 2001 PSC 1225) is really outstanding.
