The group consists of 12 musicians\u00a0in all, and an even larger number of\u00a0instruments. With a brass\u00a0section, guitars, keyboards, vocals, two drummers, strings and\u00a0accordion, they are positively\u00a0bursting with musical images and\u00a0narratives. Their music is both accessible and uncompromising, and\u00a0stylistically they\u00a0could be described as an octopus, whose tentacles\u00a0reach out to a multitude of musical genres. In the course of a short time Skadedyr has\u00a0achieved a reputation as a dynamic live band, and the new album\u00a0approaches their live spirit more\u00a0closely than their debut album,\u00a0\u201cKongekrabbe\u201d.\u00a0This time we encounter a more acoustic-sounding band, and it is\u00a0easier to hear that this is a more of a coordinated team than before. The\u00a0members of the band are extraordinarily active, and are known from an\u00a0increasing number of other exciting musical contexts. Even so,\u00a0they\u00a0all agree that Skadedyr is a band with a capital B, not a project.\u00a0Broen,\u00a0Jenny\u00a0Hval, Susanna, Moskus, Sn\u00f8skred, the Trondheim Jazz\u00a0Orchestra, Skrap\u00a0and Hullyboo are just a small number of the projects that various\u00a0members of the band are currently involved in.<\/p>\n

Skadedyr was initiated by Heida Karine\u00a0J\u00f3hannesd\u00f3ttir Mobeck and Anja Lauvdal. They were also responsible\u00a0for the imaginative material on\u00a0the debut album, but on this second\u00a0record several of the other band members have also contributed\u00a0material. The album is mostly\u00a0instrumental, but as on the debut album\u00a0one poem by Ivar Aasen is included: the title cut, \u201cCulturen\u201d. The\u00a0members of the band are extraordinarily active, and are known from an\u00a0increasing number of other exciting musical contexts.
