Songs that were on the top list of songs that people would prefer to hear when they went out to dance \u2013 hits from a vanished time. Geitungen, the trio behind the album, are playing the songs in line with a good dance-rhythm, exactly from this part of the country and that time.<\/p>\n

The record \u201cLangt Ute\u201d (= Far Out) presents songs that once were popular music among party-people from the districts in Rogaland, Norway.<\/p>\n
The image is coloured in the interplay between the violins, diatonic button accordion, mandolin, fiddle, mandola and guitars – spread between the three musicians.
\nThe expression is easy and the music ranges from warm mazurka, to heated Hopsa-dance and waltz, sometimes with influences from more contemporary popular music and playfulness in the arrangements.
\nThrough its calm and proactive play, Geitungen takes the listeners back in time, far out to the half-dark dance floors in the more festive parts of the outskirts in the district of Rogaland.<\/p>\n
Langt Ute is Geitungens third album, and are released on Grappas folk-label, Heilo. The album is a follow-up to the record BRA KAST, witch got \u201cthe best record award\u201d, in the open \/ experimental class at the Norwegian folk music awards 2005.
\nBRA KAST contained songs form all areas within Rogaland\u2019s traditional music.
\nOn this record, Lang Ute, Geitungen have concentrated more on songs from the area Bjerkreim.<\/p>\n
Vidar Skrede who plays fiddle, hardanger fiddle and guitars on this record. He is a freelance musician and participates in a number of Scandinavian bands such Den Store Norske Gitarkvartett, NOMAS, The Secret Carpet Club, Fant&Fente, AAMOS, Stimenn and Vidar Skrede DYNAMO BAND. He also got a master in Nordic folk music from Kungliga Musikh\u00f6gskolan in Stockholm.<\/p>\n
Olav Christer Rosseb\u00f8 plays fiddle, mandolin, mandola and guitar on this record. He is a freelance musician, known from bands such as Bergen Mandolinband, Early Bird Stringband, Fant&Fente and Filibuster. He also has a candidate in performing Folk music at Norges Musikkh\u00f8gskole in Oslo.
\nH\u00e5vard Ims plays diatonic button accordion on this record. He is a former Norwegian Champion on diatonic button accordion. <\/p>\n
On their new record, Geitungen once again lets everyone know who they are, in addition to perhaps take a new step forward in a new direction, which is reminiscent of popular music from a different time \u2026 \u201cLangt Ute\u201d = far out.<\/p>\n
