Chateau neuf Spelemannslag – Tjuvgods (Stolen Goods)<\/p>\n
Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag was formed by music students from the University of Oslo. They all shared a mutual passion for folk music after hearing the fiddlers Hans W. Brimi and Lars Skjervheim during a stay at the Ole Bull Academy at Voss in the early 1990s. They therefor decided to start their own folk music band \u2014 a big band with a somewhat untraditional instrument combination including saxophones, clarinets, obe, electric guitar, bass, drums and vocals, and many other instruments.
\nThrough almost 15 years the band worked with, arrranged, recorded and performed folk tunes of performers such as H\u00e5kon Asheim, Vidar Lande, Hanne Kjersti Yndestad, Tellef Kvifte, Arild Plassen, Eli Storbekken, Frode Nyvold, Jan Wesenberg and Roger Tallroth. Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag attracted a lot of attention. They recorded albums, toured and played concerts on clubs and festivals, which granted them good reviews and large newspaper articles. Both the band and the albums created discussion in the folk music scene and made way for others to to try new ensemble constellations.<\/p>\n
