Simax Classics has prepared a &#8216;best of&#8217; release with Liv on the fortepiano \u2013 including a big section of new recordings of gorgeous waltzes by Schubert, Schumann and Ravel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMozart has a clearly justified place; after all he \u2018kicked\u2019 me into starting to play the fortepiano, and has been my companion since I was a child! In addition, tidbits from other impassioned company \u2013 Clementi, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms, Ravel and Grieg \u2013 not to forget my music-loving friends Helene, Per and little brother Ernst Simon. We have played and experienced together in rich co-existence! When the idea hit us to put together a fortepiano \u2018cavalcade\u2019 we could not resist seasoning it with some recent material. The Ravel-waltzes will for me personally always be linked to Paris and my beloved teacher Vlado Perlemuter who studied all Ravel\u2019s works with the composer. Schubert \u2013 who composed a countless number of waltzes \u2013 was Ravel\u2019s source of inspiration. Selecting the works for this collection has been a hard nut to crack. Already since making her debut in 1960 she has been recognized as being amongst the elite of Norwegian pianists, with countless TV and radio concerts and performances. She has toured extensively and given concerts in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. She has also held courses and master classes, both at home and abroad, and has served on juries in national, Nordic and international competitions. She has been teaching at the Norwegian Academy of Music since it was founded in 1973 and became Professor there in 1994. Liv Glaser was awarded HM King&#8217;s Order of Merit 1965, Lindeman Prize 2004 and Grieg Prize 2014.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWhat?
