He who writes music has no easy task. His nerves have to be constantly exposed.\u201d This is the world premiere recording of Edvard Fliflet Br\u00e6in\u2019s complete symphonies.<\/p>\n<p>Edvard Fliflet Br\u00e6in (1924\u201376) comes from a long line of Norwegian musicians, to the extent that a hundred and fifty years ago \u201ca Br\u00e6in\u201d was synonymous with \u201ca fiddler\u201d in certain parts of the country. Although his father did his very best to persuade his son to choose a different path than music, Edvard moved from the western Kristiansund to Oslo for studies at the conservatory, where he graduated as an organist in 1945. 23 years old he made his debut as a conductor with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and around this time his first compositions appeared, after studies with Gr\u00fcner-Hegge and Brustad.
