For more than 60 years his name has been seen on the billboards of Norwegian concert halls. As choir conductor Nystedt made a revolution in the 1950s in Norwegian choral music. His nearly 150 works cover all music genres: it is all there from simple songs and hymns to works for piano, music for various chamber music orchestras, symphonic works and oratorios, in addition to organ works which one can hear on this album. <\/p>\n<p>Recorded at the organ in V\u00e5lerenga church in Oslo, organist Gunnar Petersen-\u00d8verleir presents several of Nystedt\u00b4s organ works, from the romantic \u201cIntroduzione e Passacaglia per Organo\u201d and the baroque and neoclassical \u201cToccata\u201d to the cascades of cluster sounds in \u201cFantasia Trionfale\u201d, the colourful harmonies of the \u201cResurrexit\u201d, the monumental blocks of sound in \u201cLa Verbe \u00c9ternel\u201d and pearl in Nystedt\u00b4s work for organ: the expressive \u201cPiet\u00e0\u201d.
