Strong Second Ambum from Bukkene Bruse<\/p>\n
The ambassadors of Norwegian folk music, Bukkene Bruse (Annbj\u00f8rg Lien, Arve Moen Bergset and Steinar Ofsdal), have released their second album. It carries the name \u00c5RE (Vein); born of a wish to bring the music forward in a traditional way, but also of a will to use the sources in a creative manner.<\/p>\n
\u00c5RE contains traditional material as well as their own original compositions; tender and beautiful, wild and violent! The lines are drawn from the first album, but \u00c5RE also reflects the artistic development of the three individuals. Here you\u00b4ll find music with roots that go back over 800 years, like \u201cNorafj\u00f8lls\u201d (North of the mountains) after the master fiddler Torleiv H. Bj\u00f8rgum and \u201cBendik og \u00c5rolilja\u201d. But also newly written music like \u201cTordis\u201d and \u201cH\u00f8stkveld\u201d. Added to the trio is keyboard player Bj\u00f8rn Ole Rasch and organist K\u00e5re Nordstoga, while the care of skilled sound engineer Ingar Helgesen really makes the music hit you.<\/p>\n

During the last years a lot has happened for the three wandering musicians. The year prior to the Olympic Games at Lillehammer they toured with the other OG musicians in three continents, and during the winter games they performed with great success. Last autumn they represented Norway in China during an official visit. They have performed for people of all ages and social classes and have really lived up to their wish to bring folk music to the people. The three members are also individual performers outside of the group context. The trio has existed since 1989, and the first record was released in 1993.<\/p>\n
