Strongly influenced by the organist Karl Straube and the composer Max Reger, Sandvold always was an \u201cincurable romantic,\u201d as he described himself. He was an unusually gifted composer who left an impressive collection of compositions consisting of nearly 70 works within the church musical genre. On this album, the acclaimed organist K\u00e5re Nordstoga, who has previously worked with prominent musicians such as Ole Edvard Antonsen, Arve Tellefsen and Knut Buen, performs eight of Sandvold\u00b4s works.
