M\u00f8re og Romsdal\u00b4s forefront of folk musicians performs the county\u00b4s unknown sl\u00e5tte-tradition.<\/p>\n
One of the main tasks of the folk musical archive in M\u00f8re og Romsdal is to facilitate the continued use of traditional material from M\u00f8re og Romsdal. The archive has lately worked to promote de oldest dance and musical forms of the county, and on this CD it is just this folk dance which is in the spotlight.<\/p>\n
The sl\u00e5tte repertoar in the county is vast, and it is from this repertoar the Folk musical archive, in collaboration with some of the most renowned performers of the area, has picked out sl\u00e5tter which is rarely used but indeed should be a perfect inspiration for dancers and performers. To convey this tradition the archives has collaborated with the forefront of the county\u00b4s folk musical performers. They represent different traditions from large parts of the county, from the north to the south. We mention: Jorun Marie Kvernberg (fiddle), Britt Elise Skram (fiddle), Knut Ivar B\u00f8e (accordion), Ingunn Linge Valldal (fiddle), Torgeir Leivdal (fiddle), Unni Boksasp (song), \u00d8ystein Sandbukt (guitar) and Gro Kjelleberg Solli (song).<\/p>\n

Old sounds from a string and sounds from the voice sings out in a new era, circling around fjords and mountains, in old and young souls tempted to dance. In to the listening ears, in to the fingers reaching for the strings. Let the sl\u00e5tter sing within you and out in the body \u2013 enjoy!<\/p>\n
The sl\u00e5tte-repertoar in the county is vast and in 2012 the publishing house Novus released \u00abFeleverket bind 5, M\u00f8re og Romsdal \u2013 sl\u00e5tter for vanlig fele\u00bb. This book represents every springar-, march- and hallingsl\u00e5tt found on older recordings in the archives. From this extensive material the Folk musical archive has in collaboration with the performers selected sl\u00e5tter which is rarely used and they wish will captivate dancers and performers.<\/p>\n
To convey this sl\u00e5tte-tradition, the archive has collaborated with eight of the most renowned folk musicians from M\u00f8re og Romsdal. They represent local traditions from large parts of the county, from the north to the south. The work with this CD was started as a part of the celebration of the Folk musical archive of M\u00f8re og Romsdal\u00b4s first 25 years (2015), a year that resulted in new sheet music, \u00abAlle tre framp\u00e5 golva\u00bb, the course series \u00abFOLKtema\u00bb, the concert \u00abFole te folkemusikk\u00bb and this CD, \u00abSyngjaren\u00bb.<\/p>\n
