Ronnie Jacobsen is back with a tribute to the traditional blues. The Grammy nominated release The San Jose Sessions is a rock-solid collection of Chicago blues from the 1950s, performed by one of our best blues guitarists, along with a handful of musicians in the world. The result is a phenomenal blues album that is based on the legacy of the Chicago blues big names like Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Eddie Taylor, Jimmy Rogers and Sonny Boy Williamson. Ronnie Jacobsen and the other musicians on the San Jose Sessions shows a unique understanding of the dynamics of traditional blues and they perform the songs with respect and credibility and help to make the traditional blues more relevant than ever.<\/p>\n

The Grammy nominated artist is one of our best blues guitarists and delivers a musical craft in the elite division. With him on the team, he has a handful of world class musicians: blues authority Kid Andersen as engineer and bassist, the leading blues harmonica player Richard Gjems, piano sensation \u00d8yvind Stole Mountains and the wonderful Marty Dodson on drums. In addition, Gary Smith on harmonica and Rusty Zinn on vocals.<\/p>\n
The result has been a phenomenal blues album that is based on the legacy of the Chicago blues big names like Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Eddie Taylor, Jimmy Rogers and Sonny Boy Williamson. Good, old songs like "Ludella" "Oh Baby", "Standing Around Crying" and "Nine Below Zero" is here honored with a passion and enthusiasm that is rare.<\/p>\n
To get the right setting for this project and to really be able to convey the traditional blues music, the Jacobsen and the company took advantage of the Kid Andersen analog Grease Country Studio in San Jose, California. This has made the song material very well and the great atmosphere in the studio to touch and feel. Ronnie Jacobsen and the other musicians on the San Jose Sessions shows a unique understanding of the dynamics of traditional blues and they perform the songs with respect and credibility and help to make the traditional blues more relevant than ever.<\/p>\n
