Jazz meditations<\/p>\n
Meditatus is a meditation over the words and prayers from the traditional church mass which have been a part of our culture for over a thousand years \u2013 and a meditation on life, faith and hope in today’s world. Here, the pianist Jan Gunnar Hoff and Bod\u00f8 Domkor, releases the mass that was first performed in Bod\u00f8 Domkirke in December 2014. Behind them is B\u00f8rge Petersen-\u00d8verleir on guitar, Tore Brunborg on saxophone, Bj\u00f8rn Kjellemyr on double bass and Audun Kleive on drums. <\/p>\n
Jan Gunnar Hoff carefully approaches the old words, and he has laid a special emphasis on the mass\u00b4 introductory prayer, the words from the blind beggar the New Testament give account for \u2013 a call for help, a call from one who lacks overview, from someone who is in need but still has the power left to call. The combination between old words and beautiful sounds, which carry far, lures the listener in to a well known musical landscape where it is easy to enchanted. The successful meeting between the christian tradition and the newly composed jazz music is brought forth by singable melodies and elegant compositional solutions which gives the listeners an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n
